DENIM TRENDS

As promised the second article for today and this is Denim Trends.

While we will always love our skinny jeans and classic straight legs, it's also fun to be adventurous when it comes to denim and this year's denim trends are more playful than ever.
The street style crowd has been playing with out-there jeans, including super dramatic flares, pearl embellishments and ruffle-trim cropped jeans. Meanwhile the denim jacket is back in a serious way, and there are two key ways to wear it this year.

 Re-worked Vintage Jeans

If I had to name one denim brand that is dominating this year it would have to be LA-based Re/Done, that reworks vintage Levi's. The patchwork jeans, as worn here by Lucy Williams, are one of the most-popular jeans styles right now (Bella Hadid also has a pair).

Denim Jackets Worn Off the Shoulder

If you've looked at any street style pictures recently you'll have noted that the "fashion" way to wear a jacket now is half buttoned and falling off the shoulders. Patricia Manfield took this styling of her denim jacket one step further by tucking it into the waistband of her jeans—2017's take on the Canadian tuxedo.

Pearl-encrusted denim

One of the best-selling items in Zara right now is a pair of pearl-encrusted jeans. These are proving to be a big hit across the high street with ASOS and Topshop.

Dramatic Flares

The likes of Patricia Manfield and Aimee Song have worn high-waisted jeans with dramatic kick flares over fashion month in February. If you're looking to make a statement, these street style-ready jeans are for you.

 Ruffle-Hem Cuffs

Just when you think the ruffle trend couldn't get any bigger, it extends to your jeans too. Cropped jeans with a kick-flare ruffle hem are all over the high street right now, and are a more approachable version of the dramatic flares.

 Sherpa Jackets

Perhaps this one is down to Nancy Wheeler in Stranger Things, but shearling-lined denim jackets are hugely popular once again. The key to wearing them now is keeping them boxy and oversized however, rather than fitted.
