The Best Red Carpet Fashion Moments of 2017
Usually, the best red carpet moments worth paying attention to happen twice a year: In the winter during awards season (the SAG Awards, Golden Globes, and Oscars all happen weeks apart) and at the end of the summer (think Emmys, MTV Video Music Awards, and American Music Awards.) But that shifted in 2017, as stars stepped up their fashion game and gave us moments to obsess over all year long, from small movie premiers, photo calls, and other gatherings we normally might have written off as just another event.
This year, we saw fresh-off-the-runway collections everywhere we looked, from an Oscar de la Renta gown covered in fresh roses (at the Met Gala), a Vivienne Westwood dress featuring a hand-painted unicorn (at Cannes), a Tom Ford-era Gucci suit that didn't need shirt underneath it (at LACMA's Art+Film event)—and that's just the beginning.
